COMEDY WRITING

COMEDY WRITING

Every once in awhile a brief comes along that calls for humor. That’s when writers like me get a chance to flex our comedic muscles and have a little fun. Here are a few of the funnier projects that I'm proud to have worked on.

Capital One x Baldwin x Barkley

Bleacher Banter

For March Madness, Capital One asked us to come up with a campaign that featured their spokesmen Alec Baldwin and Charles Barkley at a college basketball game. We came up with a series of scenes that highlighted the perks of having a Capital One Venture Card while channeling the chops of these comedic legends.

Vonage x Chevy Chase

#1 Dad

Vonage needed a spokesman for their new family phone plan. With their target audience being 55-65 year old men, we thought it would be perfect to tap the #1 dad himself, Clark W. Griswold. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask), Mr. Chase pulled out of the project at the last minute.

MasterCard Marketplace

Toaster

MasterCard asked us to think of ways to promote their Marketplace, a platform that served up deals on curated items picked for their card holders. So we brought to life one of those items, a simple toaster, and followed its journey from the factory floor to the buyer’s front door.

Nokia | Open to Anything II

(Bad)Breathalizer & Lie Detector

The original videos for the “Open to Anything” campaign were so successful, Nokia asked us to come up with a whole new batch that pushed the concept even further. So we came up with some pretty hilarious ways an owner could use their N95, including a (bad)breathalizer and lie detector to check on your spouse.

Nokia | Open to Anything

Zombie Movie & Dark Lords of Mariachi

Unlike the early iPhone, the Nokia N95 was unlocked. That meant that owners could create their own apps and use the N95 however they wished. In order to tell this story, we came up with the “Open to Anything” campaign that included some pretty funny case studies including a zombie movie director and metal mariachi band who use their phones to capture their projects.
